Rainbow have been perfecting chalk based formulas since 1994 - and our chalk based furniture paint is no exception.
The water based, non toxic formula makes it a fun activity for all the family. The silky, creamy consistency glides on to any outdoor furniture like a dream.
Effortlessly paint over brick, wood, metal and plastic - there’s not much in the way of garden furniture that you can’t paint over!
Available in 10 shades, there’s a colour sure to brighten up your outdoor space.
Similar to interior decorating, if you’re working with a small space you may want to opt for a lighter shade like white, light grey or cream. This gives the illusion of a bigger, brighter space.
On the other hand, if you don’t have grass in your garden and you’re looking for something to brighten the space up, a shade like apple green or petal yellow will give your garden furniture a new lease of life!
The secret to a perfect finish on your garden furniture is in the prep!
Although our thick, creamy paint doesn’t require a primer, it is recommended that you wipe the surface down with a damp cloth and then again with a dry cloth.
This ensures that all dust, dirt and grime is removed and you’re left with a smooth surface to paint on.
Alternatively, if you are painting over a varnished or previously painted surface, we would recommend giving it a light sand all the way around as this will help the paint to adhere.
Just like our interior chalk paint, you only need to follow a few simple steps.
First, stir the pot thoroughly to ensure all pigment is properly mixed.
Wipe your surface down to remove dust and dirt.
Using a paint brush, glide a thin layer of the paint on, using a back and forth motion.
Wait 1 hour until the paint is touch dry for the second coat and another hour after that if a third coat is required.
Finally, leave for 3-4 hours for paint to fully dry and harden.
Did you know that we also supply protective furniture wax?
A light layer will prevent unwanted scratches and chips from little knocks and bumps (or prints from grubby fingers!).
Simply rub a small amount into the paintwork in gentle, circular motions with a soft cloth!
Alternatively, for furniture or items that may receive more exposure to the elements, try our heavier-duty sealant. A liquid top coat that is water resistant and prolongs the vibrancy of the paint when exposed to the sun’s UV rays.
