Description

Home Guard Barn Paint is a Matte finish water-based paint which is specifically suited to provide protection against mildew mould caused by plants or damp environments and UV sun light rays which can damage exterior wooden buildings.

You can apply the Barn Paint to previously painted surfaces, which include those coated with weathered bitumen sealants, tar, varnish, or creosote.

The Home Guard Barn Range is a tough and durable acrylic coating with an outstanding selection of colour-retention shades to suit your exterior buildings, fencing, walls, and sheds etc.

This particular paint range has the unique ability to flex with the underlying layer, which reduces the likelihood of flaking or cracking.

Key advantages:

  • Water-based paint which makes it an easy product to apply, also easier to clean brushes etc after use and of course environmentally friendlier.
  • Mould protection additives to support against damp mildew caused by dampness of nearby planting.
  • Water-repellent wax additives which seal out water seeping through the layers causing internal dampness and rotting support.
  • U.V ray protection to resist sun damage and fading.
  • Acrylic paint that can flex with the substrate to reduce the likelihood of flaking and cracking.

Application advice

For best results, we advise using a large brush to sweep the wooden surface and remove excess dust, dirt & debris before painting.

  • Stir the paint thoroughly to evenly mix the pigment
  • Using a short pile roller or a large brush, apply an even first coat
  • Allow to dry for at least 1 hour (drying time may vary depending on temperature and weather conditions)
  • Apply a second coat, following the same drying advice before deciding if a third coat is needed

We do not advise painting in temperatures below 10 degrees celsius or over 30 degrees celsius.

Delivery & Returns Information

Rainbow Chalk Markers offer a reliable following day delivery service. Delivery is free of charge for all
orders of £50 and over, excluding VAT. All orders of less than £50 will have a calculated delivery
charge added to the order.

For orders placed by 3pm Monday to Friday, are aimed for 2–3 working days delivery between the hours of
9am and 5pm. For International shipments we aim for 10–15 days delivery.

Returning a Product

All returns should be reported to Customer Services on 01279 424491. Please note that notification of
goods to be returned must be made within 7 days from delivery date otherwise such returns cannot be
accepted.

Shortages or Damaged Products

All shortages & damages should be reported to Customer Services within 3 days from delivery date.

Cancelling an Order

To cancel an order, you must contact a customer service representative immediately, either by email or
telephone and they will give you further information.
