Our Shabby Chic Chalk Based Garden Paint is perfect for transforming your exterior furniture. With 10 beautiful matte finish shades, there’s a colour for everyone.
The water-based, low odour formulation has a water repellent finish that also contains mould and algae prevention additives. The paint can be used directly on wood (bare or painted), brick, stone, plaster, metal and plastic.
Preparation for using the Shabby Chic Garden Paint
No priming or sanding is necessary on most surfaces, except for bare wood, where sanding is recommended before painting for the best results.
Ensure any area that you intend to paint is smooth, dry and free from contaminants like wax and oil. If wax has been used, clean the surface thoroughly with white spirit.
Application
Stir paint thoroughly prior to use. The product may be applied by brush or roller. If applying by brush, apply evenly following the grain of the wood.
If rolling, use a short nap mohair roller. Allow to dry, then lightly rub with moistened sand paper or stainless steel scoring pad for a classic Shabby Chic finish – abrade with the grain of the wood.
Coverage
Up to 12m2 per litre – coverage may vary depending upon method and rate of application and porosity of surface.
Drying Time
Touch dry in 1 hour. Handle after 2 hours. Apply second coat after 2 hours if necessary. Full hardness after 3 hours.
