Step 1 — Prepare the surface

Remove any excess mould and grime from the grout area you wish to restore. Make sure the surface is clean and completely dry before you begin — the pen works best on a dry grout line.

Step 2 — Shake

Shake the pen vigorously for 30–60 seconds before use, with the cap still on. This mixes the ink inside the pen to ensure an even, consistent flow when you start applying.

Step 3 — Push (prime the nib)

Remove the cap and press the nib down firmly onto a piece of scrap paper or a spare tile. Pump the nib repeatedly until ink begins to flow to the tip. This primes the valve and ensures a smooth, even application from the very start.

Step 4 — Apply

Draw the pen steadily along each grout line with consistent, even pressure. Work in one smooth stroke per line for the cleanest finish. In some cases a second coat may be required once the first coat has fully dried.

Step 5 — Wipe and dry

Once applied, allow the ink to become touch dry (approximately 5 minutes). Use a damp cloth to wipe away any excess ink from the tile face, leaving only the grout lines covered. Allow at least 6 hours before the surface gets wet.

Important: Always replace the cap firmly after use to prevent the nib from drying out. Keep out of reach of children.

Q: How long does it take to dry?

A: The ink is touch dry in approximately 5 minutes. However, you should wait at least 6 hours before the treated surface gets wet to allow for a full cure.

Q: How much can one pen cover?

A: One 7ml pen covers approximately 60 metres of grout line, making it suitable for most standard-sized bathrooms or kitchen splashbacks.

Q:Can I use it on floors as well as walls?

A: Yes. The Grout Pen is suitable for tile grout lines on both walls and floors throughout the bathroom and kitchen.

Q: Do I need to do two coats?

A: In some cases a second coat may be needed, particularly on older or more heavily stained grout. Allow the first coat to fully dry before applying a second.
